I’m one of the people who can only taste how bitter wild cabbage cultivars (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, cabbage). It’s generic, like people who think cilantro tastes like soap, except the bitter tasting gene is the original and the non-bitter tasting mutation is the newer aberration. If you have 2 copies of the bitter tasting gene, stuff like broccoli tastes like fucking poison. So ya’know, fuck that, I’d rather have the pineapple.
Pineapple on pizza is eddible, but technically so is broccoli and I won’t touch that awful, bitter shit if I can possibly help it.
Broccoli on pizza is a very common thing in Italy. And it is delicious. Broccoli strascinati is popular on pizzas in Rome for example.

Broccoli on pizza is a thing though and it’s actually quite good when done right
