For me it was Gerald’s Game by Stephen King. I think it’s a fantastic novel with amazing character development. The main character is extremely realistic and well written. Despite the seemingly silly premise, I was invested throughout the entire thing. The main character’s development is really what sells it for me.
That being said, I am absolutely not reading it again anytime soon. There are two scenes in particular(if you’ve the book I’m sure you know) that managed to make extremely uncomfortable, mortified, and disgusted. My biggest fear is being trapped and helpless, so this book really got to me. Fantastic book, I’m never picking it up again.
Either that or Lord of the Flies… Dear God.
Any book really, because it’s kinda wasted to reread, I’d rather read a new book… There are plenty of books needs to be read!🤣 Too many books too little time to read😂

i mean yes it was important in german literature and it sparked a wave of suicides and it was the first book that sold merchandise….

But: A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen is actually awesome. Its very feminist and shows alot of issues we actual still deal with today.

I used to re-read books all the time when I was in middle and high school. But now I’m not a re-reader at all. I just don’t have the urge to anymore. I always wanna read something new. So, all of them.

The last book in the Clan of the Cave Bear series, The Land of Painted Caves. I have re-read the series multiple times, but the final book was dark and overall it ended horribly for the characters I was invested in.

Not a book but a short: I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison.
It still feels like a story that was meant to hurt people. Every once in a while I’ll have flashes of the story cross my mind and I’ll get a thousand yard stare for a few seconds.

Les Mis. I’m almost always in the middle of reading it, and I probably technically have reread all of it multiple times, but I skip around to whatever chapter I feel like reading lol (and yes sometimes that is the sewer bit).
