Not a Spurs fan in the least but at some point there needs to be some sort of limitation on retrospective punishments for historical offences otherwise where does it end? Leeds getting deductions cos Don Revie tried to fix matches? Forest getting deductions cos Cloughie took bungs? Arsenal getting deductions cos George Graham took bungs? It feels like a slippery slope

It would not surprise me that if an investigating body was given full access to all records and documents pertaining to a club, they would find most if not all clubs breaching rules.

The only thing that would remain consistent is the effort in which they’ll go to punish lower league clubs and be asleep for bigger clubs. Not sure why this Spurs thing is coming to light again. I thought this was already known.

-1 point to Spurs for reasons

-50 points to Pompey cause easier to punish

-5 to Everton cause Defoe has a couple Es in his name

Of course it was old harry. Shame that he tained our FA Cup win with this transfer and its part of the reason he’s only known as a colossal cunt in Pompey.

This was also part of it and I genuinely hate that man with all my heart. The fact he tells this story as some funny little quip, but also has to lie because all of that for 2 mil doesnt sound as good as 9 mil.

Because football didn’t want to, it was a self governed wild west in a way. Now the government has threatened to introduce an independent regulator so English football is trying to look like its cleaning up its act and doesn’t need regulating (it does).

Screw point reductions or fines, spurs need some actual punishment so they don’t do it again. I say make them rehire Conte on a long term contract, that will truly make them regret breaking the rules

So what I understood is They can be hit with:

    a transfer ban

    points deduction or

    relegation to a lower division
