Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

What book is a zero star read for you?

    Twilight.

I tried at least 3 separate times to finish that book, each getting about 20 pages in. I couldn’t get immersed or even force myself to read it, and the amount of hype is insane. Stephanie Meyer’s writing style is horribly boring to me, and I will die on that hill.

Should’ve stayed as the MCR fanfiction imo.

Mosquito Land. I rated it 3 but after continuing to stew on how bad it was I went back and edited my rating to 1 which is the only time I’ve ever done that

The three books I’ve read by Haruki Murakami. It’s incredibly rare for me to genuinely feel insulted while reading a book, but all three of his I’ve read made me angry, insulted, and so fucking curious as to how he could possibly be so well regarded.

the push!! omfg i hated it so much. it makes it incredibly obvious from the jump that the little girl pushed the stroller into the street and the author jumps through so many hoops to try and convince you as the reader to question the very obvious thing that happened in such a bad way. i would’ve dnf it if i wasn’t determined to finish it to see if it was as fucking terrible as how the rest of the book was

Art Garfunkel’s autobiography, “what is it all but luminous”. It’s all very inflated ego and playing victim, but that’s not even why. If you want to know why, I urge you to briefly go look up a sample of it on Google books and tell me that’s not the most godforsaken, torturous font to subject a reader to

The comic necronimicon by alan moore. starts off interesting, devolves into like a 20 page long rape scene for no reason

I’ve forgotten the name but it was this one fantasy book (I’m a fantasy reader) with a green cover. Worst book I ever read. Kept waiting for it to get good and that’s how I read like 300pgs of trash. Innocent Mage maybe?

Me & Earl & the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews. The writing was atrocious and I couldn’t stand any of the characters

Why are there so many comments and nobody has yet mentioned The Alchemist?

I could not hate a book more. As a student of history, I have occasionally thought that I should read Mein Kampf to better understand Hitler’s pre-war mindset. My fear is that I might find it less offensive than The Alchemist and I won’t know what to do with that.
