Honestly, what the fuck is going on with Ten Hag and United players? Within a season and a half, he has fallen out with Ronaldo, De Gea, Sancho, and Varane, there are even rumors about Casemiro problems. You could say that Ronaldo has a big ego and Sancho is a spoiled brat, but the other two have been model professionals for their entire career up to this point.
We know for a fact that a good manager must be authoritative, but I feel this is going too far. Honestly, this might be the best argument against ETH, not the results. His ego looks gigantic which is necessary to be successful at this level, but you need to control yourself enough to keep the players on your side.

This thing with Verane is silly media stuff. He’s made some mistakes when he’s played. Off the pace, bad passes and has been injured on and off. So he’s been dropped. Maguire has come in and picked up the slack. Looked alright defensively, and has been switching the ball nicely from right to left. Which seems to be what the manager wants from his defence, with the seeming obsession of a left footed LCB.

Ronaldo thing was aired out in front of everyone . I personally think that was handled as well as it could be.

Similar with Sancho. Keep what goes on in the club, in the club. Why make it public. If it’s not working then keep your head down and get a move? It’s like he’s called the managers bluff after how the Ronaldo thing unfolded and lost. I think the managers right. Apologise or piss off.

You only really need to look at Wan-Bissaka and Maguire to see that working hard, a good attitude and taking your opportunity under Ten Hag will get you back into the team. It might not work out for them in the long term, but they are giving it a good go.

Picking Maguire over Varane because he looked half decent against bad opposition is a sackable offense. They didn’t have any tactics in the game against City to justify it either, so you’re just waffling, he’s the same guy that plays Bruno RW so let’s not pretend he knows anything about profiling, tactics or selection.

And Sancho didn’t make that situation public, Ten Hag did to take the heat of him after another shambolic performance in Sancho’s absence. He’s not unnecessarily apologizing to make a guy he’s lost all respect for look like some “alpha” in the public eye. Ten Hag fractured yet another relationship, and dangling the carrot of cameo appearances in his dead team is not enough to make anyone with a crumb of self-respect fold and apologize to him.
