Old broad here. I’ve loved my iPhone 7, but it’s not holding a charge … may be dying. Don’t need anything fancy. I play a couple of games, text, call … a bit of surfing … not much. What do folks recommend? I want to stay with an iPhone. The 15 seems like a lot for someone like me … and I heard it has issues.

Thank in advance.

Edited to mention it’s 128 GB.

iPhone 13 still for sale 599$ and will be a major upgrade. If you want to keep the 7’s form factor get the SE

I went from 13 to 15… not much difference really. 13 is a great phone for the money.

Get the 13 mini! Do not get the 12 mini as myself and plenty others got rid of it because of carrier connectivity issues.

If you want to stick to an iPhone. I would say get the iPhone 15. I got mine a few weeks ago and have experienced absolutely 0 hiccups. It’s a fantastic device. If you have budget constraints then grab the iPhone 13. It’s an amazing phone which is about 85% of the 15, and will be supported for at least 4 years. It’s also regularly found on sale and you should be able to find good second hand deals depending on where you live. IF you are looking for the smaller form factor then the SE is always there!

A lot of people are saying SE but I won’t recommend SE, it won’t feel much of an upgrade either and battery life after few months is utter disaster. If you plan to play games or take a lot of photos, it tanks the charge really really quick. After 2 years now, I think i have to full charge my phone minimum twice to thrice a day and move around with a power bank. If you ask why do I still use it if it’s this bad, i don’t have the money to upgrade at this point of time but I am planning to get a battery replacement and I really love the form factor of the phone. Its so so handy and fun to use. Go caseless and its the best feeling phone in your hand. And it gets updated frequently so there’s always new and fun things to look at.

Fixing is usually the better option if someone doesn’t want to commit to buying a new device with payments.
