Nothing seems to be going right for utd, and as satisfying as it was for a while now it’s a little depressing.
Obviously Liverpool are our biggest rivals now, and as much as I love this new relationship with them, I should care more about games against utd but I just don’t, they don’t compare to us anymore. (I still love a Derby, still great fun to watch, but they’re never stressful anymore, and I always expect a win against them whereas Liverpool games always feel like they could go both ways).
Things just haven’t seemed to go right for utd since he left, and I had a thought today that the best manager to save them from their post Fergie downfall… is Fergie no?
We’d probably never see it happen, based on what was said in his autobiography the man is finished managing, but how cool would it be to see him come back? And am I right in thinking he could actually turn things around?
Feels weird to say, but I would genuinely be so exited for the league and our rivalry if Fergie came back 😂
Why? So he can resume getting clapped by Pep?
😂 cocky new generation fans. The existence of city’s fan base started after 2012. United haven’t been playing their best football agreed. But the Derby over-all win percentage should tell you enough about how dominant we’ve been. 78-60 even after you have the best squad in your premier league history right now.
Just let the bloke rest, he’s done enough.
Opposite. Fergie needs to take a step back from the club. His shadow hangs over that place and every manager that comes in gets compared to him. Showing his face every game and putting even more pressure on the club. Wenger took a step back from Arsenal after he left and it was the best thing he could’ve done.
SAF doesn’t hang over the managers. He offers opinions when asked but he isn’t in there ordering them around and telling them what to do. The reason why no manager has lasted at United is because not because of SAF directly, but more so because of the expected success he brought the club. The glazers have also made it incredibly hard for any manager to succeed here due to them completely gutting the entire structure and funding. However, it seems that ETH might stick around for a while.
It doesn’t help when he’s there every weekend, being talked about on commentary, showing his face on the television when they let in a goal, etc.
So because he’s retired he’s not allowed to attend matches?
That’s exactly what I said you’re spot on
Paisley had to ban Shankly from Melwood for the same reason. Shankly would frequently visit the grounds and the players would still call him boss. If it continued it would have completely undermined Paisley.
I don’t think he wants to deal with whatever is going on with United
Come on. The Citeh is big enough for both of us.
I also want that to happen so Pep can show him levels (again) and everyone can see who the goat is.

Pep beating an 80+ year old man who had emergency brain surgery not long ago, and retired 10 years ago, would mean absolutely nothing.

Pep doesn’t compare to Fergie. Ferguson is the best manager that’s existed.
Lad he destroyed him in two CL finals. And I would want PRIME Ferguson in the PL now. It doesn’t matter, Pep would show him levels no matter what. He’s so clear of that long ball merchant.
Every knowledgeable person says Pep is the best ever. Only Brits and other PL fanboys rate Ferguson that highly.

Are you suggesting they sign an 81 year man who retired 10 years ago and had emergency surgery on his brain 5 years ago?
The only rivalry you’ll have with Fergie is a competition in not drooling on yourself.
Not to mention that his wife recently died as well
Given the quality of this post, my money is on Ferguson winning that battle easy.
No, he couldn’t turn it around.
You need to get a life, mate. Internet fandom is the saddest thing in football. Growing chillies has better outcomes than the drivel you’ve just posted.
ETH is doing great! 😃
You are thick
You seen far too excited about Ferguson to deem yourself a city fan. I don’t know any city fan who even refers to him as sir
Yes you are. And Liverpool aren’t your biggest rivals.
Yeah just for the record OP, we’re only sporting rivals, that’s it. If youse went bang tomorrow you’d be forgotten in a snap and it will always be that way.
Be nice to an old man plz. No one cares about United more than him and as a fan I really don’t want to see him facing this dilemma as a manager anymore.
As a city fan I must ask what the actual f***
