Nothing seems to be going right for utd, and as satisfying as it was for a while now it’s a little depressing.

Obviously Liverpool are our biggest rivals now, and as much as I love this new relationship with them, I should care more about games against utd but I just don’t, they don’t compare to us anymore. (I still love a Derby, still great fun to watch, but they’re never stressful anymore, and I always expect a win against them whereas Liverpool games always feel like they could go both ways).

Things just haven’t seemed to go right for utd since he left, and I had a thought today that the best manager to save them from their post Fergie downfall… is Fergie no?

We’d probably never see it happen, based on what was said in his autobiography the man is finished managing, but how cool would it be to see him come back? And am I right in thinking he could actually turn things around?

Feels weird to say, but I would genuinely be so exited for the league and our rivalry if Fergie came back 😂

Opposite. Fergie needs to take a step back from the club. His shadow hangs over that place and every manager that comes in gets compared to him. Showing his face every game and putting even more pressure on the club. Wenger took a step back from Arsenal after he left and it was the best thing he could’ve done.

Paisley had to ban Shankly from Melwood for the same reason. Shankly would frequently visit the grounds and the players would still call him boss. If it continued it would have completely undermined Paisley.

SAF doesn’t hang over the managers. He offers opinions when asked but he isn’t in there ordering them around and telling them what to do. The reason why no manager has lasted at United is because not because of SAF directly, but more so because of the expected success he brought the club. The glazers have also made it incredibly hard for any manager to succeed here due to them completely gutting the entire structure and funding. However, it seems that ETH might stick around for a while.
