Considering how bad we’ve been at drafting OL, I’d rather get proven players from FA honestly. If you look at our most recent playoff team, we had an OL of Penn/Osemele/Hudson/Jackson/Howard - our worst player on that line was probably the single guy we drafted, but it was a great unit which made our team successful. Sign proven guys, pay them what they’re worth and create a top 10 unit for JJ to feast and whatever QB to have a chance to manage the game. Trying to find diamonds from the bargain bin like James and Van Roten has such a low chance of working out, and if it doesn’t work out then you’re screwed.
Much rather draft DL/CB/QB, depending on what players are available at what positions of need. If we solidify the OL in FA and draft real players that can help our defense, it’s reasonable that we could have a 10 win/wild card roster even with AOC at QB imo.
This is what happens when you choose Dennis Allen as your coach.
