How can you be this stupid? The law says “Shall Certify” (at least for now…)Certification is simply signing off that you’ve done your job and added up the numbers for your county correctly. The law is not saying you can choose to not certify the election if you think something is wrong. It is saying to get your damn job done by November 12th or you are in violation of the law.

All these people want to do is tie things up long enough that the SCOTUS feels that they can step in and choose a winner, just like in 2000.

This is what I think needs to be pointed out more often. He is a former Trump supporter who feels betrayed by Trump’s actions in office. A former cult member woke up and realized that Trump was a threat to the nation. Of course, being a former cult member, and lacking the strongest of connections with reality, he decided that hiding in the bushes and trying to shoot him was a reasonable solution.

The article however says, “Routh’s past online posts suggest the suspect has not been consistent about his politics in terms of supporting Democrats or Republicans.”

All these articles are trying to say he wasn’t really a Republican or a Democrat and trying to run cover for the GOP. But that’s not true. The fact is that he’s a former Trump supporter, a former Republican, who realized that Trump was full of shit but he still had a head full of the GOP’s and Trump’s violent rhetoric. Being a consistent supporter of one party or the other is irrelevant. This had nothing to do with Democrats and everything to do with the GOP and Trump promoting violence and availability of deadly weapons like the one he used.

The only part that shocks me, well, puzzles me really, is that the potential shooter knew where and when to be at the club when there was nothing on Trump’s schedule saying he would be there.

If only they would run for Congress rather than screwing around every four years and knocking over the table.

Well of course it’s going to get worse. One of the parties will not allow even moderate, reasonable gun legislation. Every former Trump supporting loon with a grudge can get a gun with no problem.

These third party types always claim that they want to reform the system. That’s bullshit. If you want to reform this system then you need to start at the bottom. You need to recruit candidates and invest in winning at local and state level first. Those are the most winnable offices for an outsider/independent. Hell, win a few critical states and you can get enough states in the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which, while not an ideal solution, would be a good first step in reforming the system.

Once you have some power and recognition at the state level, you need to aim for Congress. Start winning seats in the House and Senate and you can really start making change. That is where the real power of change resides. How many times have we seen a president with a divided House and/or Senate have their policy goals effectively neutered by legislative antagonism? Without support from the House and Senate, a 3rd party president would be powerless.

Stein cannot possibly enact positive change even if there were a literal miracle and she became president. The only thing, literally the only thing she can do by running for President is get Trump elected.

If this was staged, I think it was staged to trigger Trump’s cultists to try and take out Harris. They want them all to react just like “Leon” did.

That may be the statement they want to make, but the statement they are making is: Condemn Israel or we will let the fascists install a virulently anti-Muslim dictator who will actively help Israel wipe out Palestine.

Shooter (if he ever actually got a shot off) is an American who has tried to recruit other to fight in Ukraine against Russia. Curiously, he is also a former Trump voter.

They are not rejecting the system. To do that they would need to leave and go somewhere else. What they, and you, are doing is refusing to participate in the system as it currently functions and by doing so allowing the system to put a fascist in charge, a fascist that will happily wipe them out.

Someone should explain to those Muslims in Wisconsin that Stein literally cannot win their state. She has no electors. State law requires that a candidates electors be nominated by state office holders. The greens have no state office holders so they cannot nominate any electors. Even if Stein were to somehow win the state, she can’t get the electoral votes for Wisconsin. All she can do is again steal enough votes from Harris to give the election to Trump.

Trump started it. Back in 2020 there was a coronavirus stimulus package going through the legislature. The Democrats tried to include some amendments that would make it easier for people to vote during the stimulus. Basic stuff like easier mail in voting and extended voting days. Trump’s reaction on Fox News showed that they clearly understand that more voting is bad for Republicans.
