True, the biggest factor is language, a Lemmy in Arabic or Chinese would be completely. An analogous example is comparing YouTube to Bilibili (Chinese YouTube), two different worlds and I’ve only found one “YouTube like” reaction channel on BiliBili.

Depends on the disability, e.g. someone with a gambling addition will just spend the money, or sell the house. If its like autism spectrum disabilities than it can be considered unethical. (If the inheritance is a house, than put it in trust so they can’t sell it for any reason.) If they’re saying that the person will “just get disability payments” shows that they don’t care and would rather play favorites than have all their children to succeed.
Depends on how much can be taken down via software or hardware. Hardware wise undersea data cables carry all the traffic of the internet and when they’re cut the internet will stop working. Software wise, the internet is hard to take down because most means; like the law, malware, and other attacks only affect invidiual websites. Even if AWS were taken down, they would have backups to reduce the outage, and that kind of attack would be as difficult as cutting an undersea data cable. (But the Russians are testing their ability to cut them.)
Is not having an anti-virus good for most people though?

2·2 days agoWas gonna make a blizzard joke here, but this person is so intellectual that they wouldn’t get the low-grade humor, or how milk production before markets only works if everyone works a single farm, and cannot work if the population is scaled up.
