On a more serious note, I haven’t watched the video and probably won’t but I’m curious to hear if some of our more learned community members would say that Hasan is guilty of adjusting his stances simply because his audience unconsciously calls for it.

I watched him almost daily over the past 2 years and I would soft-agree with you. He seems to adjust his tone, especially when it came to AES back in the day, so that he can still show up and interact with liberal spaces without having too bad of a reputation as a malding tankie.

His role is more to push the overtone window to the (socialist) left, utilising his image as a self proclaimed ‘Himbo’ and ‘just a Streamer’, but never letting an opportunity go to give actual food for thought and arguments, sugar-coated in liberal speak by preemptively saying “I have my criticism of XYZ, but ABC”, never actually getting into the point of his own criticisms, but always staying on dismantling rightists talking points from the left.

My two cents are, that when he really gets something wrong, it is because he has like 10 things going all the time, and doesn’t catch up to things as I want him to. That being said, I think he is actually achieving the goal I laid out earlier (just looking at Gaza and Ukraine-Russia alone), and I view him as indispensable for actual leftist movements.

We don’t really have someone like him on the German speaking internet, and it really shows.

(We may have Dekarldent being somewhat left-ish ideologically, but that dude was actively AES bashing like crazy, mixed with this immature western-marxist ‘everything has to be perfect NOW’, and has this chauvinistic tone with everyone that tries to talk to him in the chat. I think he has many years ahead of him if he really wants to change something, but he only started reading theory after gaza, and has been a lib-politics streamer for some time before that.

One of the things I am glad to see is his active solidarity with Palestine, and actively platforming them as almost one of the only ones in fucking germany-media. Man I really hate it here).

I’d say I’m more angry at having to be denying myself for reasons that even today I don’t really understand. Growing up with this song and dance in a family that wants to mold their next generation to their image only taught me that I, as a being, and my thoughts, are never to be trusted. And since everyone else wanted something different from me, they can’t be right too.

Thus, being trans (or living in conditions comparable to being trans) always meant to me to be ‘eternally wrong’. I think its not that uncommon of an experience in general, but growing up in a hostile environment as a literal child till adulthood, there are many, many things that I had to learn about me.

I never truly knew what I would want to try out, never developed social interest for a long time, just starting after I got my HRT going. It felt as I was being held back surviving, thus never really developing.

It is exactly that living, exploring and taking interest at the appropriate developmental stage which i mourn. I may have grown a lot over the years, but that feeling of not quite being part of society due to that different trajectory hasn’t really gone away.

tl,dr; I think its quite comparable to cptsd, due to the alienation to ourselves in developmental stages many of us have to use to survive socially, and I definitely feel what you say. Kind of like a promise of a childhood never held.

I definitely felt like that for the beginning of my learning, but nowadays I just feel confused by every kind of media and discussion around me being painted in lib views, to the point of experiencing paranoia / delusion. Glad that those times are behind me, but now I tend to devolve into blood boiling anger if I’m by myself, but try to remind me to ask others questions about their understanding, instead of devolving into debate culture. lol

Merz’s Government is easily the most confusing and disgusting in rhetoric and action. It’s comparable to the trump admin openly expressing the imperial nature of the USA, but without much public support or ideological coherence. I like to think about the so called grand coalition as the non-maga branch of the republican party in terms of policy, even though you could call the traitors of SPD functionally brain-dead, even from a liberal perspective.

I wouldnt’ve predicted this government to be this bad, since all I knew was Merkel. Seems like the cope is running out.

Not only that, but I always notice how peers of mine dont even know how to respond anymore without some unconcious level of sarcasm / cynicism; covering the numbness we experience in social settings. When we break out of it, and begin to feel, most of us are stunned and at a loss of words.

I hope that I’m just too young, and we begin to have some level of social cohesion, instead of hopping between asthetics we would like to call ours. I think, as a generation, we have become too uncertain to have our own perception, instead prefering to live in the hyperreal.

(I don’t want to say this from a doomer perspective, but more as my confused two cents from the main european vassal state.)

I recently got seriously ill with multiple symptoms, but nobody wanted to take a look. 2min ‘counseling’ is the best you get if you’re younger than 50, regardless of symptoms. Instantly got prescribed placebo medication and antibiotics that didn’t help. After staying home for 3 months, getting back into routine was actually scary. Glad I kinda saved for such cases. But hey, don’t even dare to bring up your own research, since the ‘experts’ might get hurt they have to do something.

For the past 5 years, the acceleration of climate change here in west germany has become too obvious to ignore.

I’m not old enough to remember ever seeing much snow laying around, but I do know that having up to 25 degrees in april isn’t something that was supposed to be.

Also, what about the greenery in our cities? I fear we would have to replace every tree and plant manually, to not live with permanent dead wood around us.
