What I want to know is where tf you’re finding these recruiters who offer to move you from one country another. The only recruiters who ever reach out to me on LinkedIn are for shit positions that won’t even do a temp sponsorship while you’re already inside the country
But I’d say definitely ask about job security and what your options are if you’re laid off or the job goes south.
I’ve been in Australia for 6 years and I have yet to have a pathway to permanent residency at all, even from studying here. I work in media and advertising and my current company has hinted that they can sponsor me, so I’m hoping that plays out but if not it’s onto Europe for me.
Australia in general makes it very hard to migrate here, even if you’re an employee making bank unless you work within certain industries a company won’t be able to sponsor you at all.
People see countries like Canada and Australia (where I am) through some serious rose tinted goggles and think that the country is perfect when it is absolutely not. Canada is heading towards societal life support, if I were you personally I’d go back to Europe and enjoy the higher standards there while you sort something new out
New York or Lisbon. I’ve been living in Sydney for 6 years and there isn’t a day I miss living next to NYC. Sydney has its perks but half the city is a ghetto, trains are down every fucking weekend, it’s outrageously expensive for what you actually get, and the police have a major napoleon complex. Driving here is also abysmal.
