What the FA should be investigating is who threw the missile in the first place and a fine for Spurs for their fans throwing missiles.
Sickens me on the stance that “it’s alright for fans to do it but footballers should be more professional”…they’re still human beings, they shouldn’t be having anything thrown at them simply because they play for an opposition team.
Ultimately it boils down to this…does it really matter? Yeh it’s early but so what. Think of the positives, you get a lot of TV time which is good for fans who can’t make it and you’re rarely in the Saturday 1500 KO slot. I appreciate you often play on Sundays because of europa league fixtures but again. There’s bigger issues in football than playing at 12:30. I wouldn’t say sticking 2 title challengers at 12:30 is weird, the fixture’s still being played so important nonetheless but that insinuates that most 12:30 kick offs aren’t important and it’s worth remembering that fans of other clubs may want to see their team on TV too and every PL game is important.
I saw comments on Facebook a few weeks ago when Palace vs Wolves was on TV instead of Liverpool vs Villa that they should be showing a “less boring game” (ie some Liverpool fans saying their club is more important so should be on TV). I’m not saying this is what you’re doing, but we should be careful to avoid arrogant that some PL games are more important than others. So again, does it really matter? In my opinion - no it doesn’t
