  • Bsky uses atProto, not activitypub. From what i got its an awful protocol because they reinvented some things and added cryptography to the point that they are in control of moderation.
The defederated part is only the place where userdata is stored, everything else like algorithms is in the hands of bsky.
If one wants to get control of an “instance” they need to make a second competiting bsky basically.

But Threats has activitypub. I mean like every Masto instance defederated because its very much influencers & stuff.
Some defederated instantly because its Meta, but after months even the ones who tried to accept them felt spammed with trash

  • As a german (luckely my family is too so i dont have to hide) people are generally way more accepting for it when getting offered beer or club mate along with it.

But only shoving the good sides, while hiding something like that you only collect pencils with ISO 12757-2, can create a positivly warped view. Which at least is better than getting cast out.

And if you really cant show it there: there are two countries full of them where you could escape to because of something like “mountains and castles” in the Aldi Süd/Hofer part and “diverse cities” in the Aldi Nord part
