I hear what you’re saying, but a game manager like Trent Dilfer isn’t gonna cut it in todays NFL. Certainly not in out division facing Mahomes and re-born Russell Wilson twice a year. QB has to be able to create when plays break down. AOC doesn’t look like he has it. So if the opportunity is there to get a guy who’s more dynamic, we gotta get him.

The NFL had moved beyond the traditional drop-back passer. AOC was drafted in the FOURTH round to be a backup QB of this type. QBs today need to be dynamic playmakers and it is clear that this is not what AOC is. So, it will be interesting to see how this, or the next regime addresses the QB position. I’m thinking new QB, new OC and scheme. AP stays next season, unless he proves to be incompetent through the rest of this year. Team needs some continuity.
