It’s a german company again, however currently seated in Luxembourg.
The main problem is the way YaST2 is (not) integrated with the modern KDE and Gnome settings. Gnome 40 then screwed things up even more for them as every item is now part of the overview, there ain’t the classical menu anymore.
If you know where to find things it’s great, but right now it indeed feels quite messy with lots of settings hard to find and split in lots of submenus.
Correct! Ventoy adds boot parameters on its own, screwing up some fundamental settings (sth. that can happen on any distro that isn’t making the user configure everything by hand). It’s also a questionable piece of software on its own given the binary blob it adds to every stick… do not use it.
The only fair comparison of Linux distros is always on devices of Linux vendors as they both pick the right hardware as well as merge Kernel patches if necessary.
I do however concur that OpenSuse offers basically everything. Except for intuitive system settings - but at least they’re all there, you never really have to use the CLI. Other than with others who will eventually lack something. Also the bootable btrfs snapshots by default are a dream for common users.
Good for you there wasn’t an “ease of use” or “intuitive” field.
Don’t say that too loud, you shatter the western / white superiority complex. :<
You could’ve really stopped at “relativity”.
for me it’s 2 consecutive “nights” of 17 hours. That way I’ll get about 3 to 4 hours of actual quality awakeness. Doesn’t work always though, sometimes I can’t fall asleep enough.
Anything below that is always crap, no matter what.
Like every time a country conducts genocide people close their eyes and don’t want to admit that, facing such crimes against humanity, every single Israeli has the duty to do whatever they can to stop their government. No matter if its a Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Jinping, Putin or Netanyahu (or some political conglomerate), and no matter where the injustice and moral corruption began or what once was, the people have to stand up against a corrupt system at that point. Of they don’t they are indeed complicit, every single time.
Jokes on you, I do have boobs. They’re invoking upvote magic even when hidden.
Your wish was granted.
Of course they would. And communist regimes literally did consolidate into dictatorships on their own from the very beginning. At the end communism is inherently authoritarian, which is the core problem.
The current downfall of capitalism could likewise be blamed on Russian influence to make it look less awful, which is likewise documented. While it holds truth it still is a really bad argument.
The greater the income disparity, the stronger authoritarianism becomes, the more fascistic it becomes. It’s always the same, which is why it has to be held in check, something the USA outspokenly do not want to do. Communism, Maoism, Xiism etc. are just taking a shorter route to authoritarianism.
Then that lawsuit will be paid with tax money, and the new benches will be of hostile design with extra spikes below them just to make sure the homeless won’t come. Also they might “feel pressured” to employ a “security” guard that regularly kicks out the homeless in increasingly cruel fashion. For safety reasons, of course.
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, only that the current decision makers won’t stop to be ass hats. They need their asses kicked.
Shit, das Problem habe ich tatsächlich übersehen. 🫣
I’m sorry to hear that… I expected something like this the moment the fascists won though. As far as I know you also lost social security (as in money for the jobless), right?
We probably have this in our future as well. Despite our government generally doing a good job (despite & except the neoliberal dick who once was our finance minister and just got fired) in this last legislature, far-right media propaganda is simply overwhelming. A christo-fascist outcome isn’t too unlikely next time. 😔 It will wreak havoc on everything.
“My teeth are killing me” meant something pretty different back then.
To my knowledge there are interesting quantum-mechanical effects at play as well though. There’s a lot of esoterical nonsense around that of course, however first discoveries pointing into this direction are quite promising.
I always remember a quote from Alan Watts talking about this topic: “You are the universe experiencing itself”. The idea of consciousness being an emerging property of the universe itself makes most sense to me, and the non-deterministic properties of quantum mechanics open this possibility.
Definitely more inspiring to think about it this way than just as a lump of fat.
