1·1 day agoI wonder if pages have to be generated individually to appear legit to the crawlers, or if the same contents can be served as different links over and over… if I knew more about how this stuff works I’d try it myself hah.

17·4 days agoCan anyone explain what is happening behind the scenes with the “room creation”?? That sounds intriguing. I understand OP is a bot but, is anything described here an actual way of trapping crawlers? How are the crawlers fooled by any of this?

1·5 days agoI think because people are the same no matter what platform they’re using and you’ll end up with the same kinds of arguments, trolling, or derailing everywhere. But they already have platforms they’re on for those, so why switch?
Lemmy would have to be pretty different and because humans are the same everywhere, I’m not really seeing that difference.
I see it somewhat when browsing contents in other languages because the culture is different enough to lend itself to different contents, or at least different arguments that are less tiresome than what I see on English platforms…

20·16 days agoMeh. Who cares about these monetary judgements, they don’t change anything. I want to see metaphorical heads roll (people jailed for this.) Fines have no consequences whatsoever.
Remind yourself that a lot of people fall into the trap of boosting themselves at the expense of others around them because it’s a low-hanging-fruit way to make themselves feel better. Their comments aren’t really about you. Someone’s always going to judge, no matter what we do. At least you try, that *is *worth something.
hmmmm I should load up Rimworld again

7·1 month agoThe regret and embarassment won’t last long past orange’s dying. Watch them jump onto the next puppet, the problem isn’t just the current figurehead, it’s always been who’s behind him actually driving the machine, and the 77M idiots who supported him and who are your neighbors, because they bought into what orange represents and they will defend the next one by comparison (won’t be hard to find a more mentally competent dude than 47…)
If you’re already saying you think you’d have to teach him everything, you have your answer… It’s OK to not want to take on more than you have energy for. Pass.
