Probably only noticed this one because you don’t see it every day, but “sotto voce” came up a few times in Gideon the Ninth. It’s only used maybe once or twice in the sequels and it was a bit like running into an old friend when I saw it there!

Probably Choke by Chuck Palahniuk because bits of it were just so disgusting. I enjoy Palahniuk’s work but my God it is scarring (I’m not sure I can ever read Guts again either).

i hated verity so much i don’t even know where to start with it. for a thriller it was as thrilling as watching paint dry. 80% of it was bad sex and when i saw the thanks to el james in the acknowledgements i was like well this shit makes sense.
