  • 1 ) FFXIV - Story, class/job system you can change on the fly, roulette system that keeps people playing old content to help new players, so much side content (fishing/crafting, gold saucer, housing, glamor, etc). Leveling is not a chore/grind-fest.

) Diablo 2 / D2R - just the best arpg, been playing it for 20 years - not much else to it

) Hades - really loved the way they used the roguelike system to move the story forward. Figuring out what abilities work together to make OP builds, heat system for added difficulty

) Halo 2 - took lessons from Halo and made even better. Some of the best multiplayer maps of any game

) Zelda - A Link to the Past - I love all the Zelda games, but LTtP just hits everything perfectly. Big game, but doesn’t go on for too long - or have tedious gather quests/weapon breaking systems.

) Mass Effect - I know lots of people prefer 2. 2 did have better combat, but the story in 1 was just so good. I also loved scanning planets.

) CoD:WWII - my favorite online shooter of all time. Great maps and guns, I really liked the different classes (I prestiged all of them, but Airborn was my main). I could play Kill confirmed on hardcore (no HUD/ mini-map) or 24/7 Shipment forever

) Super Metroid - best Metroidvania, hands down.

) Baldurs Gate 3 - basically DND that I can play whenever I want without having to wrangle other players. Great story, fun to play through multiple times to see how situations can play out differently/ different ways to resolve issues/siding with factions, etc.

) Super Mario 64 - all of the Mario games are fantastic, but 64 just hits perfect. Not too long, love all the different speedrun categories, easy to pickup but very hard to master. Wide variety of levels , each with unique features. Still blows my mind that one of the first 3D platformers went this hard and plays so well.
