1 year agoYou could pull off the digital nomad gig for a while to test the waters of living in the EU. Going Dutch is maybe a bit underwhelming… taxes, average rent 1.5k a month, water electric and gas 400 euro a month. Healthcare 250 a month, groceries 150 euro a week. Leisure depends on what you have left from your 2k a month income. You see by this silly example that cost of living is insane and only full dedication to the rat race can save you from poverty. So budget accordingly for any possible move to NL
Sadly finance at the moment has been quite rocky. UBS and many other financial institutions are struggling to keep afloat and although they undoubtedly will survive or bailed out, it’s like 2008 all over again. Many jobs imho will be lost in the months ahead. Now having said this you also know that this opens opportunities. Hedgefunds and corporate raiders are desperately seeking talent to analyse potential investments. London is the place to be!
