  • Yeah, I don’t turn my vpn off, period.

Not that it matters. If this instance gets enough fake accounts just to game voting in this single community, we’re fucked. You get that many fakes and moderation becomes a full time job. Lemmy doesn’t have the tools to cope with it on a moderator level (and from what the admin of pond of the bot attacked instances said, the admin tools are weak as well).

This just makes voting a pain in the ass. Add in a rule about writing a coherent sentence along with your vote, and you’ll reduce fakes without the need to leave the app/page, or deal with VPN usage invalidating the ability to participate.

  • Yup, busted furniture too.

No bull, people toss broken chairs and such all the time. Wood is wood for the most part, so a little effort and you’ve got materials. Depends on your city, of course, whether or not you can just roll up and grab things, but most folks that are just tossing things don’t care, so if there’s no ordinances in place against it, it’s a fairly sustainable way.

We do it out here in the country too, though there’s usually plenty of fallen branches and whatnot.

  • Tbh, on my mod account, I’m staying just inside where they’ll try to something. Not so that I don’t get removed, but to drag things out as long as possible. In the meanwhile, I’m dismantling and changing the automod little bits at a time, making small deletions of popular posts, etc so that when they inevitably catch on, whatever scab they throw in has to work harder than I did to set it up.

    Fuck spez, and fuck reddit.
