    Problem here is that you are a complete noob.

    Otherwise you would not have asked such a stupid question.

    Your attempt would probably end up with you installing a random arch or derivative, cursing for a few hours trying to do everything that should not be done on a linux system because that is how it is done on windows, and finally concluding (wrongly) that linux is no good.


  • No of course I don’t expect people to change video cards just for wayland.

    But from the way you write in your posts, you make wayland look inferior or immature, when in fact it is only a problem of nvidia users.

    To run Linux you also have to take into account the hardware to be used. And choosing nvidia for a linux system can make sense for many purposes, but you have to be aware that it brings some pretty stupid driver limitations and that limits you with wayland.

    Wayland does not suck and is more than ready to replace the default gnome and plasma sessions. Let’s just hope nvidia will wake up and seriously start improving its crappy drivers.



  • Si quieres emular windows dentro de ubuntu, puedes usar virtualbox para crear una VM de windows.

    Sin embargo… si la mayoría del software que necesitas funciona exclusivamente en Windows, no tiene sentido complicarte la vida utilizando virtualizaciones o wine.

    Usa windows y cuando hayas encontrado software alternativo que también funcione en linux entonces haz el cambio.
