I think it’s the contradiction of trying to fight censor ship while also praising the US government, who is in a stream of heavy censorship. just look at that 60 min episode.

yes?
I’m sure they have enough content in the data store.

have you met the natives?
isn’t that what the 90s crisis in Quebec was?

and on that day, not a single citation was given…

bush era regulations aren’t foreigners…
here’s the thing with Putin, he didn’t invent the flames, he just stoked them. The tea party was always this.

your quick to blame current problems on foreigners, while ignoring that those people came to the us BECAUSE of its existing imperialistic politics.
They’re at best a symptom of a larger problem.

ignoring the decades of previous history of home made American imperialism.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam,…

they are only subject to a federal license because they ship interprovincialally

because writing is a good skill to have professionally.
also, you have the itch, so why care if people read?

do it for you then!

the thing you have to remember is that the internet is built off the backs of furries and trans women.
that’s not to say that all tech workers are one of those two, but a lot of those two work in tech, specifically open source.
Don’t believe me? look up programer/Unix socks.

and being a woman makes you immune to biases?

really, so being a women means your a perfect soul?

well we’re not making things extreme so…
as a trans person myself, I said nothing of your gender, and only spoke of your biases. just because your a woman, doesn’t mean you don’t have biases.

if you dislike what it says about you, that’s for you to process and deal with.
I’ve done nothing but point out what it’s saying to me, and just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s not being said.
real talk here…
its okay to be uncomfortable with what something says about you.
but you CAN controll what you unconsciously say. By starting to recognize these biases and start to examine the root, and decide if you want to change how you do that in the future.
I’m not even saying you have to, or even you should change. Just that if you WANT to change, you can.

but that’s the point isn’t it?
even a meme is deeper than it looks of you did it based on who you are.

why not swap who is ‘wrong’ in this meme?
why use the woman every time?
that’s the thing with art. it leeks your self onto it. memes included…

if your taking things that literally on the internet, I can’t help you.
but what I can say is I didnt know anyone who understood it’s an insult was until I moved out of Alberta. So everyone I met while growing up, yeah.
for the record I grew up in Calgary.

buddy I grew up in Alberta. and there’s 2 things to sum up the people.
During mask mandates I was in the Carstairs post office, and saw a woman with no mask picking up 2 boxes labeled cristianbooks.com
the second is everyone in Alberta thinks being compared to Texas is a compliment.
these are two light hearted examples, with many more in the memory bank.
there’s jerks everyone. My worst bit of transphobia was in Toronto.
But Alberta does seem to have the highest concentration of jerks. at least as far as my experience has gone.
there’s a lot more to the article than open source
