I’m kinda on the pro-ship side considering the rampant puritanism that anti-shippers have shown, but I’m just asking to check my own biases.
Also, this place does have a lot of libs, so keep that in mind.

I don’t really engage with shipping drama, as I find it pointless. I don’t really get what Pro-Shipping is there’s a difference between having a morbid interest in a narrative that can be produced from taboo dynamics, and someone who wants to fetishize taboo relationship dynamics. As ssomeone with a morbid sense of curiosity that usually leads to regret I can sorta relate to the former.
Like for example, would people who are interested in a game like The Coffin of Andy And Leyley becuase of its exploration of fucked up themes be considered Pro-Shippers? Or would it only apply to the portion of that fan base who obviously have a fetishistic fixation of the portrayal of incest in the game?
Maybe it’s becuase I tend yo avoid delving into shipping discussions for series I like, but I’m confused about how broad the term is.
My personal view is that a shipper should be examined by the reasons for their behavior. Are they genuinely interested in exploting potential narratives/charecter analysis, or are they just trying to fulfill a personal fetish.
I’m not sure I have the capacity to speak more deeply on the topic or give a more thorough analysis, so apologies.
