Make your own decorations. Find a local independent shop that sells yarn and make little pumpkin pompoms. Hang them from a spiderweb.
Or, just boycott halloween altogether, like every other year.
Why? We just don’t bother with the consumerism side of it, but seeing friends and making some decorations is fun. Plus seasonal food is great, I was going to eat food anyway.

Halloween itself is already a farce; a commercial, US American circus, spreading all over the world. Never expected it could be topped.

I get angry seeing Christmas things before December. I can see spooky fun stuff anytime and be happy.

Summerween is better than Halloween because it’s still twilight during trick or treat hours and the weather is warm enough that you don’t have to worry about exposed skin and cold weather. Plus way less likely for bad weather during summer.
