I’m uneducated on Tibet as a whole. Today when discussing China with a family member they mentioned China’s oppression of Tibet which I know isn’t true, just didn’t know why it isn’t true.
I’d appreciate some explainations as to why the West is wrong about Tibet.
the 10th Panchen Lama and Reting Yeshe Tsultrim urged PLA liberation of Tibet
CIA material acknowledges training, supplying, and parachuting Tibetan fighters back into Tibet
I highlighted the main points in the links but each one contains plenty more useful surrounding information.
I believe Michael Parenti has something on Tibet.
He had appearance talking about it on Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (2005) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEOSCIOnrs&pp=ygUjUGVubiAmIFRlbGxlcjogRGFsYWkgTGFtYSBhbmQgVGliZXQ%3D
and wrote a Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth https://www.michael-parenti.org/article-friendly-feudalism

Here is a tidier link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEOSCIOnrs I wasn’t able to get the first one to work through the front ends.

A lot of discussion around Tibet focuses on its regressive feudalistic practices which elsewhere would have been the perfect pretext for the US to bomb the place to smithereens. While that justification in favour of China makes sense, in my view the more important aspect is that Tibet was sort of a poisoned well scenario because the US was using it as a breeding ground for destabilising elements against China: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_Tibetan_program
At such a point liberal talking points about China being expansionist or imperialist when they toppled the Tibetan theocracy become moot because Tibet had become an existential threat to them. What China did to Tibet was literally was any country would have done in a similar scenario and they did it with much more restraint than for example the US.

I highly recommend reading this entire book if you haven’t done so. It’s not very long and it is quite unique in that it is a contemporary first hand account of Tibet just after its liberation.
Watch this.
