If you are lucky, you can sell half of that ram next year to make your money back.

That’s such an insanely nice gift. I’m sure they’re thrilled with it and I’m sure they appreciate you greatly.

Then watch him get disappointed because you got him a 5060, instead of a 5090.

Actually, I got him the 5090… and 64GB of RAM.

Is this an engagement PC? Because I’d say sex. I mean yes!

Spared no expense. I just paid 70 bucks for half a tb of high-speed microsd. 3 years ago I could get 1 tb for less.

Is half of that RAM backup for when the first 32 dies or does he actually do something needing 64?

I do have extra RAM as backup, still stung when an entire 32 GB stick died the other day. Now I have 224 GB instead of 256 GB, I’m more concerned about going from quad-channel to triple-channel than the actual capacity.

The people who helped me put this together recommended 64GB of high-frequency, low-latency RAM since I wanted a top-notch build without cutting any corners.

If you didn’t hand mine the silicon, can you really call yourself committed?

I hope you both enjoy yourselves :)
