If you didn’t hand mine the silicon, can you really call yourself committed?
I hope you both enjoy yourselves :)

Completely fair, I made this post assuming that ‘anyone on fediverse social forums obviously knows what PeerTube is,’ thanks for pointing out the flaw in my unconscious biases, I’ll keep it in mind if I make more posts like this.
Essentially, PeerTube is to YouTube what Lemmy is to Reddit, a network of video streaming websites where the content of each website is, in theory, accessible through other instances in the network. I made this post in an effort to identify common reasons people who try PeerTube can’t stick around.

Yes, sexual harassment is unethical.

I’d argue that blocking people, even over petty disagreements isn’t exactly wrong. I am a strong believer in curating one’s own experience, which is generally the consensus on platforms such as Tumblr; and arguably the biggest strength of strong tagging systems.
With this particular post, I don’t know if I’d say it’s ‘power tripping’ per se, but more of an unfortunate byproduct of a particular user’s outsized presence.
Edit: Paragraph spacing,
Edit 2: Editing note

It’s hardly ‘slipping through the cracks’ when it’s all so seemingly by design. That said, good on you, I’m so glad whenever I hear people finally get the treatment they have a right to and deserve :)

videos ain’t that the truth

Yeah, that’s true. Thinking about it more ‘just block them’ only really works if they aren’t most of the platform. I make most of my posts to encourage discussion, and I don’t see repost bots doing much to that end.

1+1 does not equal window, and I’m tired of pretending it does.

I promise 🙏 forgive me?

Oh yeah, no, that shouldn’t happen.

sorry, my page reloaded while editing and I assumed it hadn’t sent.

Does blocking not work? I’m not the biggest fan of repost bots myself, but they exist for a specific purpose (however tenuous their ability to achieve it may be.)

Censorship has many degrees to it, and your needs would be determined by your threat model. Once you are more aware of what you need, finding proper support should be easier. Otherwise you will wind up getting advice too extreme for your practical purposes.
Obligatory ‘just use linux’

Makes sense, they were in dire straits before Morrowind, and well, Microsoft is Microsoft.

It was an assumption based on the only similar staff perspective I have heard of, my apologies.

I can only go off of what I’ve heard directly from Bethesda devs, who from what I’ve seen generally have the attitude of ''he is a great boss who has been given too much to handle as the studio got bigger." You’re probably referring to the ‘seagulling’ post which, afaik, was a 4chan post without a source.
Oh hey, I literally just made a comment talking about this. Funny coincidence.
