It’s something we’ve noticed here to. If you went on a long drive a couple decades ago you’d have to clean all the bugs off you’re car. Now it’s eirey how clean they can be even after driving across a state
depends on the season… i drove from utah to california a couple summers ago and hit swarms of bugs so thick I had to stop at each and every gas station on the highway for at least 30 miles to clean the windshield so I could see enough to drive.
also there was some plague of mormon crickets that was so thick in utah that traction control kept freaking out and giving me mini-heart attacks as we slid down the highway
if i hadn’t seen it with my own eyes i’d never have believed it

I’ve heard this is mostly due to pesticides - they’ve basically sterilized all farmland at this point.
