    @OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Rofl, they called it a “potential sequel to Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine?” Not, uhm, you know, a actual sequel to Puyo Puyo 1? 🤣

    Wasn’t Puyo Puyo 2 already out long before the Saturn anyway? Rather than potential sequel, that would make it potential port, no?

      Well, in the west we only know about Mean Bean Machine and Kirby’s Ghost Trap for the longest time.

      Puyo Puyo 2 was originally released in the arcade with a Mega Drive and Game Gear port releasing soon after in Japan.
      About a year later the game released on Saturn as well as PC-98 and was then ported to just about every system in existence.
      The last port was on Switch under the Sega Ages label by M2 actually.

        @OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games Yeah, I got the Switch port. I’ve rather enjoyed the Puyo Puyo games for some time, but their history is too complicated to keep up with. 😁

          @nazokiyoubinbou

          It’s a bit messy with those rebrandings for the west. But overall it’s pretty straight forward. 😅

          I actually just rebought Puyo Puyo Sun on my PS3 as a PSone classic from the Japanese shop.
          I have had it for nearly 25 years on Saturn, but it’s just convenient to have it on a somewhat modern system as well.
          Still need to Pick up Puyo Puyon and Box on PSone as well.
          Have the first one on Dreamcast, but again, convenience. ;)
