I don’t get the AOC hate. I mean I understand minor frustrations with him but I feel like a lot of people want to trash him so quick. Like let the dude cook and I think we could have a solid qb. I think with AP and Hardegree he could really fine tune and tweak his few flaws. I think he could be the real deal just get him a solid backup but I think a lot of us fans are sleeping on my boy. He’s been holding his own, especially with so much change during his rookie year. End rant. Stop the raider hate.

It’s not hate to not like a player or to criticise his performance. Maybe rather than objecting to it you could make a case to keep him. Not this coach speak ‘fine tune’ and ‘real deal’ talk. What do you think he offers as a starting QB in 2024? Like actually get into the weeds here.

We’re not moving off him this year but looking at the games he’s played so far it’s been underwhelming. He’s had two good quarters of offence and they both came against the Giants.

He is overthrowing his receivers, he is holding the ball too long and not going through his progressions quickly. He also isn’t good rolling out of the pocket.

He looked bad against the Jets and while they are a good defence their own incredibly shit offence did mean we had opportunities to wear them out (and eventually JJ broke off that big run to set up our TD play).

Today he looked lost and while I believe Miami have been a somewhat underrated defence AOC was gifted great starting field position by our defence and he didn’t do anything with it. And before you blame the play calling, once they opened the passing game up that’s when he was overthrowing balls, putting it danger and turning it over. The conservative play calling may have been to try to limit mistakes.

As for being a rookie, so? He’s 3-6 TD to INTs, that’s shit no matter when you do it. Tommy DeVito, the meme he beat, is 6-3 TD to INT and the Giants are a much worse team than we are. Tyson Bagent currently has a season completion percentage of 65.7 and 3 TD to INTs. Aidan only has a 62.1 completion percentage and he has Tae to throw to. Bagent also has a better season passer rating (71.4 vs 70.6, both bad but yikes).

So no, weren’t not sleeping on him. He looks like backup come third string guy.

He’s also 25, he’s the same age as Justin Herbert, heck he’s only a year younger than Sam Darnold and he’s two years older than Brock Purdy.

We’re not going to cut him but today was the first time he played a complete team which can compete in all 3 phases.

He’s got the Chiefs twice, the Vikings (you want a diamond in the rough, Josh Dobbs), Colts (Minshew is trying to make the case he can start somewhere next season) and the chargers and donkeys. He needs to win some (half) of these games. He needs to win 5 if we’re thinking about playoffs.

These are the test games. If he looks like he did the last two weeks? We’re trading up for a QB because we we’ve shackled to mediocrity at the position for way too long.

It’s the whole offensive scheme and system they’re in, honestly we’re playing a game of what if’s at this point and so far offense isn’t gonna do anything. No progress since last year. It’s gonna be real tough to revamp it, best option trade Adam’s and get a shot at a QB since everyone thinks that will save us and have him compete with AOC, polish up defense

The scheme doesn’t negate some of his flaws. He has room to improve on them, but you can’t bank on that happening going into next season.

I honestly don’t believe mcdipshit did much to help him work through his flaws either. He got reps in preseason sure, but Hoyer was entrenched as QB2. So Farva has legitimately only had a couple weeks to gain chemistry with the #1 receivers. He is more accurate than his numbers show and knowing the speed and catch radius of his receivers is really crucial on deep balls. He can make the throws, but he’s been fighting an uphill battle this entire year.

While I’m not saying he’s elite, I am saying he’s capable of making every NFL throw. Right now though he’s got third string experience + three games. I’m not even sure I want to count the chargers game because he was set up to fail because mcdumbass didn’t prep him to start that week. We’ll know by the end of the season what we have, but right now we’re still dealing with the stink of mcshitforbrains.

That’s true but these guys don’t have the horrible system we have in place that McDaniels left us. And they don’t have rookie OC’s either. This talk about drafting a QB and pretending that’s gonna solve all the problems is wild. Stability is what’s needed and a decent system as well. Think about McDaniels and the system that is STILL in place here. AOC is apparently a great studying QB and has a great work ethic. Arm strength is there I’ve seen him ZIP that ball, If we wanna WIN NOW, then we should be looking at getting a Vet not a rookie. And if not then let’s get our DLine and Oline figured out and then go from there. I’d rather go after Jacoby brissett.

Aidan only has a 62.1 completion percentage and he has Tae to throw to.

Doesn’t really matter when he has no pass protection.

Neither do the other two I compared him too. Neither does Zach Wilson.

We’re going to start him for the rest of the season but we have no obligation to him going into next season.

Its kinda hate inasmuch as its unfair to judge him in toto right now when he’s still developing, with only a couple actual starts on his resume. Saying the mistakes he’s making now define who he’s going to be forever is simply not true.

If by the end of the season he’s still making the same mistakes and not showing any growth, then you can start to make those criticisms. But almost no one is going to immediately jump in and be an NFL QB1 right out of the box, in the scenario he was in

Damn dude. It’s the hope that kills you and you just killed the hope. In all seriousness, well put. He’s very raw at a not very raw age and the verdict is still out. He obviously isn’t showing signs of a missed prodigy that slipped to us, but he has shown some positive tools. I imagine he’s feeling a lot of pressure. It seems this team can do that to guys with regularity. Good offensive players come here and suddenly they aren’t the same. I think this fanbase has a way of adding extra pressure because we’ve grown impatient and been that way for so long and for good reason.

He probably isn’t the answer, but no harm in giving him the reps. I just hope this doesn’t turn into a case of our defense suddenly being amazing and the offense unable to score because we are cursed with flip flopping which one can perform on a given day and hardly ever put both good forms out there the same day.

3 picks so what, one on 4th down at the goal line and another basically a Hail Mary at the end of the game and you want to compare him to Tommy DeVito. “He” doesn’t need to win the games the entire team does, I suppose Josh Jacobs getting 39 yards on 14 carries was AOC’s fault somehow right?
