Is a given person uttering valid critique of Israel or is it veiled antisemitism? Is their opponent calling out real antisemitism or is it a dishonest defense of Israel with the antisemitism-cudgel? Is real valid critique being answerd by honest but wrongly-addressed call outs of antisemitism? Is real antisemitism accepted as a valid critique?

The example of this thread is definetly a dishonest defense of Israel, they could not have made it clearer that they will oppose valid criticism of Israel with the antisemitism-cudgel.

And I hate that, because equating Israel and jewish people is playing right into the hands of antisemites and into the hands of a murderous isreaeli government.

Europe is suffering a very severe Hydrogen shortage. What it takes to produce Hydrogen? Water and lot’s of cheap energy.

If capitalism self regulates as the Financial Times so often claims… the big energy producers should get at it. Surely they can make more money producing Hydrogen than paying industries to consume electricity.

Right now Hydrogen and many other chemicals are mostly byproducts of the oil industry, let’s move away from fossil chems.

Geht gar nicht um Antirassismus, geht um Machterhalt. Leute in der sPD, cDU, FDP sind an Machterhalt interessiert und sollten allein schon deshalb AfD-Parolen meiden und entkräften anstatt sie in eigenen Worten nach zu plappern. Dafür müssen sie keine guten Menschen sein, nur typische Politiker… dass sie es trotzdem nicht kapieren ist halt frustrierend für diejenigen von uns die tatsächlich antifaschistisch sind.

Ich weiß nicht wie lange es gedauert hat bis ich begriffen habe, dass die EAV in ihrem Lied über Jörg Haider sich über “braune Ärsche mit Ohren” lustig macht und dabei keinen schmutzigen Hintern meinte. Mein Kindheitsfreund meinte immer dass die bestimmt “Frauenbären” meinen wenn sie singen dass der Haider eine Vorliebe für die “Braunbären” hat, weil das mit Braun für uns keinen Sinn ergab.

Auf jeden Fall hat mich das nachhaltig geprägt und ist definitiv hängen geblieben und gab mir einen zusätzlichen zweiten Kick und große Heiterkeit als ich endlich verstand worum es ging.

A (very simplified) timeline of US intervention in the middle-east.

1. Iran democratically elected a secular leader, but he wanted to use iranian oil for iran. He opressed his populace so bad, that they turned to Ayatollah Khomeni and his religious extremists to get rid of him. The religious zealots have been in power ever since.

2. To fight against the Ayatollah Regime that drove out western oil companies, the US illegally bypasses a weapons embargo to arm a neighbouring dictator called Saddam Hussein. He wages the first Gulf War on Iran for 8 years, which results in ~750.000 dead. The poison gas attacks happen with the knowledge of the US.

3. Russia invades Afghanistan, the US arms local resistance fighters, a group called Al Quaeda under one Osama bin Laden. To help the islamists against the godless Russians, thousands of mercenaries and religious extremists from muslim countries are recruited by the CIA and brought to Afghanistan, they become the Taliban. More than a million civillians die.

4. Saddam Hussein, seeing no win against Iran instead invades the absolutist, slavetrading monarchy of Kuwait. Kuwait had opened it oil-wells to western companies, so with the help of the CIA and an american PR-agency, the daughter of Kuwaiti ambassador pretends to be a nurse and lies about Iraqi soldiers ripping babies out of incubators. The world is shocked. What follows is the second Gulf War. More than a million dead civillians again.

5. Following this second gulf war, american troops are stationed in the gulf region protecting “western values” (the oil wells). The religious extremists in Afghanistan are not amused, the sheer existence of nonbelievers on holy ground is blasphemy to them. Al Quaeda (formerly funded by the US and the House of Saud) begin their campaign against the west.

6. Following September 11 2001 the US invades first Afghanistan, then Iraq and don’t really bother with the long-term stabilizing of a region they so effectively destabilized. From the chaos rises the Islamic State.

At least she tries to oppose us through democratic means. But yes, she’s still opposition. But I can argue with and sometimes even compromise with a democratic opposition. I can’t do that with a fascist government.

Uhh, I once found good information on why that is:

Daraus hat der rechte Block gelernt und die Temperatur danach nur langsam erhöht, Frosch-im-Kochtopf-Stil und hat angefangen Bündnisse zu bauen, mit Corona allem voran bei den Schwurblern aber auch mit Moskau. Die Medien und die Union haben mitgemacht und schön das Overton-Fenster zum anti-elitären, anti-akademischen, anti-wissenschaftlichen und anti-Würde-des-Menschen rechten Feld verschoben.

Jetzt ist die Temperatur im Osten hoch genug, wenn wir Glück haben übertreiben es die Rechten sofort wieder und Restdeutschland wacht aus der Hypnose auf. Wenn wir richtig Pech haben vertuschen die weiterhin ihr Energie-Level und versuchen auch in Westdeutschland noch genug Hitze zu erzeugen bevor sie wieder Feuer legen. Das wird dann ein noch unschöneres Erwachen als es jetzt schon ist.

Dass wir das noch ohne ein mega schmerzhaftes Platzen des Knotens hin bekommen, daran glaube ich kaum noch.
