Well, I wasn’t damaged before reading it.

The Farseer Trilogy is as good as people say it is. I won’t say too much more because you should just read it.

So is the Black Company, although it’s only about 75% as gritty and tripy as it’s rep.

The First Law Trilogy is great, wonderful character development, but the ending will make you want to spit fire and chew nails.

The Dresden Files are fun and sometimes hilarious. Dresden is a pulp noir hero by design, though, which has gotten some flak recently. YMMV but I don’t know what folks were expecting from a book that screams it’s love for that old genre from the rooftops.
