Plus one to that. I also imagine the mother has some substance abuse issues—if not currently, at least historically. When the sister said to Clayton “you’re my baby”, not “my baby brother”, it sounded like she may have been a parentified child who basically raised Clayton.
The sister seems like she has substance abuse issues of her own and maybe having a child forced her to draw a line with her mother.

I started nearly a year ago and now I reference couples as if they’re close friends. But, considering that all my actual close friends have young children and have been married happily for like 5+ years, I need to get a drama fix somehow!
What’s weird about it? The adult sons sleep in bed with their mother and the dad sleeps on the floor in the living room over a disagreement that no one has ever discussed. Seems chill to me. 🤣
