  • I’d love to know how many they have sold! Bird still did the least to share why their work is important or anything to promote. Sad people trust her. People need to understand that when Bird and her Shine team sit down and play all they talk about is making money. They do not talk about making their communities better or any broader vision. It’s trends and cash in their pockets - that’s it. They DO NOT care about the world.

  • All the while she’s getting skinny just like the rest of the body positive influencers as if they all didn’t prey on the vulnerabilities of woman for years. It is disgusting and predatory, even to the point of glorifying not investing in nutrition/physical activity. I don’t believe in birds influence but it’s there and it’s harmful. I’ll just say it, to essentially encourage others to settle on a 20lb (just a number it could be any) weight gain and just love themselves may have sounded great 2 years ago but now they are dropping the weight because thin is in and woman with actual demanding jobs and families they actually take care of are being left behind because even if they are feeling uncomfortable with their weight gain they have no time, resources, support or lack of stress to begin to change. This could be my bodies natural weight or it could be because I watch 6hrs of movies on a weekday - something Sarah’s done many times. As a woman I believe we come in all shapes and sizes and loving ourselves begins in how we value ourselves - not in how many forehead wrinkles we have or if someone looks twice at my tummy. I love what I see in the mirror because I’ve overcome hard shit, our family loves each other madly and I contribute I’m my career. Unlike birdshit I actually love what I see. I think this is why I saw Sarah for the fraud she is and want her to have a reckoning. That photo of herself all tucked in trying to look tiny from today is sickening - she loves, values being thin, it’s obvious.

** I read this over, it’s a quick thought so it can’t cover all the things but if it sounds like I’m advocating that we shouldn’t gain the 20lbs, I’m not. We can’t hate ourselves to any weight, that’s not good. But what I do believe is the body positive space has done harm and it needs to be said. There is a balance in there and I don’t think it’s all in self love - I think it’s in love for others.

  • The way she is (seemingly) just off the hook for attaching her name to something and then does the absolute minimum. She didn’t do anything to share why the fundraiser partnership was important to her. This is not how woman with careers behave, we are accountable. As nurses pointed out on their hospital foundation post in a workplace where sexual harassment is prevalent from higher ups and clients using sexuality to get people’s attention is gross. Influencing is playing at something, selling snake oil - whatever, it’s not a career and it’s not admirable.
