I’m so sick and tired of trying to do things ‘differently’ than the rest of the league, just for the sole purpose of being able to say we did it ‘The Raider Way.’
He’s a 4th round pick, that has and will be given plenty of opportunity to prove himself. Why do we need to go all in on this guy? Just for the off chance that IF he’s decent, we can rub it in everyone’s face?
Draft a damn top 10 QB, and move on. He’s serviceable, will be a find backup QB. He’s not going to win us games.
Chicago, New England, NYG, Atlanta, Tampa Bay.
Atlanta and Tampa Bay will finish with better records than the Raiders and I could totally see New England(Bill Belichick) being stubborn and trying to make Mac Jones work.
8???
I count 4 maybe 5
Anyone but McCarthy, please.
I believe in AP 100%. Coming into the freakin’ NFL as a rookie head coach with a staff and playbook of someone else is near impossible. Give him a contract NOW.
AOC ain’t it, and we need to take Bo Nix or Jayden Daniels in April.
I think context is important when discussing AOC.
He was drafted at the end of the 4th round, and was never meant to be a franchise QB for us or any other team.
We completely shit the bed in the beginning of our season, and so they could afford to give him the rest of the season to ‘show off’ and earn his spot. AP gave him a blank check, as he does with all of his players, and told him to write his own way. If he doesn’t, that’s completely on him.
However, again since he’s a 4th rounder, he would need to light the world on fire in order to earn the starting position and he certainly hasn’t done that so far.
He has been ‘fine,’ which again is not good enough to win a spot as a 4th round QB.
I don’t mind them giving him the entire rest of the season to figure it out, but unless he is actively winning games for us, we need to take a QB with our 1st pick next year.
I like AOC, but we need a QB ya’ll. This game has been close because of Miami’s mistakes.
If we had an elite QB, we’d be up by 2 scores.
This team is SO CLOSE.
To add on and to be fair: we also do not have a great history of developing QBs, but Fields has time and experience in the league to where we wouldn’t be starting over from scratch with him.
