I did, looks like CCP is about half, but it didn’t show many of the the other ones. I was wondering if you thought it was higher than that, from what you were saying, it sounded like you thought it was like 90%.

But you do have an idea what it is. I use it because that’s the only thing I’ve seen non tankie people refer to it as, and I definitely don’t want to follow the tankie’s lead. Is it a translation thing that someone swapped or something? Or did they change it at some point?

It never changed. The official and correct name of the party is has always been The Communist Party of China: CPC. I hae no idea why people in western mainstream insist on misspelling it. It’s like if I just arbitrarily decided to spell USA as SUA and then insisted that it’s the way it should be spelled despite the official spelling being very clear.

Looks like maybe CCP is more of the transliteration of the first letters of the Chinese words, but CPC is more of a translation, which the party prefers? But I’m getting a ton of conflicting state sources muddying the water. Some indications that CCP was seen negatively, so CPC was emphasized as a rebrand. Or that Chinese is a slur, so using China instead is more sensitive.

Anyway, CPC is what the tankies insist on, so I’ll keep using CCP.
